In 1850, a wealthy German merchant built a stately brick row house in
Hermann, MO that he would use both as a storefront and a residence. The
Schiller Strasse Parlor Suite is situated on the first floor of this
historic building. This elegant suite is in what was the original parlor of
the home. Although it was neglected for many years, it has now been lovingly
restored and now embodies the style and elegance of its German founders of
the late 1800’s.
Upon entering the suite, lovely millwork,
intricately carved wood furniture, period wall coverings, ornate tall
ceilings, hardwood floors, antique hanging cabinetry, beautiful antique
framed prints, German needlework and intricate German paper cuttings known
as scherenschnitte set the stage for your vacation getaway.
You may
find the leather arm chairs provide the perfect spot to sit and read about
the wonderful Missouri wine country adventures that await you. The cozy drop
leaf table sits beneath the mantle shelf and is the perfect place for
playing games or enjoying a soothing cup of tea.
The show piece of
this romantic historic Hermann getaway is the beautiful intricately carved
queen-sized 4 poster bed that sits beneath a glorious chandelier. What a
beautiful setting for a romantic evening.
Delicious, gourmet breakfasts and delectable desserts are served in
the private suite or on our lovely veranda.
